From 1 November, time outdoors gets shorter

Vienna’s Belvedere gardens and museum keep different hours. The official Palace Gardens page lists 07:00–17:30 from November through February, compared with 06:30–19:00 in October. Upper Belvedere publishes regular museum hours of 09:00–18:00 daily. Checked on 31 October 2026: the park’s closing time moves forward by an hour and a half, while the museum remains open later. The free park is not a ticket to The Kiss

Admission to the palace gardens is free. The Upper Belvedere collections require separate admission: the ongoing Picture this! display presents the collection, and its official page links to Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss. To visit the interiors, choose a ticket for the correct location. Upper Belvedere, Lower Belvedere and Belvedere 21 are not interchangeable names or three entrances to the same visitor route.

The slot sets your entry time

With ordinary Upper and Lower Belvedere tickets, you choose an admission time. The FAQs say the slot does not limit how long you stay, within the location’s opening hours; waits can still occur. With combination tickets, the slot applies to Upper Belvedere, while the other locations are visited on the same day before or afterwards, within their own hours. Do not confuse the museum ticket with free garden access.

Build the afternoon in two parts

A planning suggestion, not a route timed on a personal visit: allow a window for the walk first, then enter the museum at your chosen slot. With a hypothetical 16:00 admission, leave a buffer beforehand for the garden; do not postpone the entire outdoor visit until after 18:00, when the park would already be closed under the published winter schedule. If architecture and a walk are your only aim, you can choose the gardens without automatically adding the collections.

Three checks before confirming

Check location, date and time in the official checkout, then reread the price for that day rather than assuming a fixed rate. Upper Belvedere gives its address as Prinz-Eugen-Straße 27, 1030 Vienna. For the outdoor part, check weather and notices: seasonal hours do not certify path conditions. The cover shows the actual location on 3 December 2023; that day’s snow is not a promise for your November trip.
