Start with the tasks

A data plan may suffice for maps, messages and online bookings. If a service requires a Korean number, conventional calls or identity verification, check those requirements separately. A tourist eSIM does not satisfy them merely by working in Seoul. List essential apps and check access before making every arrival step dependent on connectivity.

Prices for measured usage

Saily’s checked South Korea catalogue lists 1 GB for seven days at EUR3.49, 5 GB for 30 days at EUR9.99, 10 GB at EUR16.99 and 20 GB at EUR26.49. Confirm displayed prices before paying. A small plan may suit a stopover; two weeks require sufficient validity and a margin for image uploads.

A network is not a speed ranking

Airalo lists SK as the primary network and offers fixed and unlimited data categories. Open the specific package details: reduced speeds, hotspot and activation can change the comparison. National 5G infrastructure does not guarantee 5G for your product or device. We do not assign speed scores without on-location measurements.

A US number remains a US number

Saily offers an additional US number with a calling/texting plan and identity checks. It is not a Korean number and does not establish acceptance of local verification codes. If a local number is essential, ask a Korean operator about visitor-product functions, required documents, outbound calls and SMS.

Arrive with a fallback

Check model and carrier unlocking before buying. Save the accommodation address, booking and installation instructions offline, then select the correct data line. Check network and validity for Seoul and other stops without assuming universal coverage. For laptop work, test the hotspot briefly and retain an accommodation fallback for important commitments.
