Eligibility comes first

The match is not open to everyone. Hilton requires eligible status with another hotel programme and proof of a stay within the preceding 24 months. Approval and once-only eligibility apply; existing Gold or higher members are excluded from this route. Before assembling an application, check that the current form accepts your competing programme.

The current challenge thresholds

After approval, Gold lasts for 90 days. The current official page specifies six eligible nights within the challenge window to retain Gold, or twelve nights in total for Diamond. It is not six plus twelve. Older references to eight or fourteen nights should not guide a new application. Keep the specific terms supplied with your own approval.

Time the application

Map stays already planned and leave room for changes. An illustrative example: three two-night trips add up to six nights. That does not establish that their rates qualify or that all dates fall inside your assigned window. Check the challenge dates before booking and clarify stays crossing its endpoint. Do not infer your eventual status expiry from an older campaign.

Essential evidence, real costs

Submit only the required evidence through the official channel, redacting information unnecessary to demonstrate status and the stay. Keep night costs separate from estimated benefits. Gold upgrades remain subject to availability, while breakfast and credits depend on brand and property rules. None automatically makes a night purchased solely to finish the challenge worthwhile.

Check the outcome, not just the booking

After each stay, check the credit in your account. A booking confirmation does not prove a night has been counted. Keep invoices until the challenge is closed and verify the resulting tier and communicated expiry. If you are one night short, compare its additional cost with benefits you would actually use. Leaving a challenge unfinished can be the cheaper decision.
