Read the whole chart
Hyatt’s five-level structure, announced on 25 February for May 2026, distinguishes Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper and Top. Read both hotel category and the band applying to each night. An older three-level chart does not describe these searches correctly.

A category is not one price
For a category 4 standard room, the five values are 12,000, 15,000, 20,000, 22,500 and 25,000 points. Category helps orient the search but does not establish the budget. You need the band applying to the intended nights and actual room availability.
The value of nearby dates
An illustration: nights at 12,000, 20,000 and 25,000 total 57,000 points, averaging 19,000. Another combination of 15,000, 15,000 and 20,000 would require 50,000, or 7,000 fewer. The calculation shows the effect of the bands, not available rooms on specific dates.
Flexibility should serve the trip
Moving a departure should still fit flights, work and plans. Compare the award with the cash rate you would actually consider, including charges and terms. Saving points while adding an overnight transfer can change the result completely.
Save the nightly breakdown before changing the calendar. It reveals which day creates the difference and whether that difference survives recalculating transport. Check the room category available in both searches too; comparing different award products can create an apparent advantage unrelated to pricing bands. For a longer stay, read the total again before deciding. An appealing first night says little about the complete travel budget.
The SoftLuxNotes choice
Use the current five-band chart to orient the search and the booking summary to decide. Category alone promises neither price nor availability. The appealing stay combines a hotel you want, sensible dates and a clear total cost.
