The answer first

Tickets for the Nightjet 2027 timetable, starting 13 December 2026, are already on sale for direct Nightjet services up to 360 days before departure. That extended window does not cover EuroNight, feeder or connecting trains. Four services to and from Italy also face suspensions or shortened routes in 2027 because of construction. Check the exact route and travel night before choosing a cabin.

Rome: Vienna and Munich have different rules

Vienna–Rome: from the nights of 5/6 May through 28/29 August 2027, trains run only to or from Bologna, with no Florence or Rome stop. Munich–Rome: the service is unavailable from 7 February through the nights of 4/5 May; from the nights of 5/6 May through 28/29 August it runs only to Bologna. For a summer trip, Bologna is the announced rail endpoint, not Rome. Plan any onward journey separately and check it for your date.

Venice: two different suspensions

Vienna–Venice cannot operate from the nights of 24/25 May through 11 July 2027. Stuttgart–Venice cannot operate from 7 February through the nights of 9/10 July 2027. These are different windows. Choose the exact service first and search your date in the ÖBB booking engine; a missing result does not automatically mean a sold-out train.

Book using the right sales window

Search for the direct Nightjet on your chosen route and date before adding a feeder or connecting train. The 360-day window applies only to direct Nightjet services. EuroNight and connecting tickets for the new timetable are announced from autumn 2026; the ÖBB FAQ normally lists EuroNight and other night trains as bookable up to 180 days out. A Nightjet reservation is mandatory in Germany and Italy.

Price or flexibility?

Compare fare conditions alongside the final price before paying. Nightjet Sparschiene cannot be refunded or exchanged; Sparschiene Komfort and Standard can be cancelled under different rules. Flexibility can be useful during construction or when arranging separate onward travel from Bologna, but we assign it no guaranteed cash value and quote no fare without a verified booking result.
