Follow the whole chain

Compare three stages: eligible euro spending, points earned and miles received. Looking only at the last ratio can mislead. Revolut awards one point per EUR 10 on Standard and Plus, EUR 4 on Premium, EUR 2 on Metal and one euro on Ultra. For Flying Blue, inspect the actual partner and conversion quote displayed in your account before deciding.

Correct the Italian Amex reference

The Italian Membership Rewards catalogue lists three points for two Flying Blue miles, not one to one. At that ratio, 50,000 miles require 75,000 MR points; this calculation concerns conversion, excluding bonuses or spending to acquire the points. The page specifies a 750-point minimum, multiples of three and an estimated three to twenty business days. Another market’s ratio does not describe the Italian product.

An explicitly conditional scenario

If your Revolut quote confirms 1:1 to Flying Blue, 50,000 RevPoints would produce 50,000 miles. With no bonuses and entirely eligible spending, the ratios imply EUR 50,000 on Ultra, 100,000 on Metal, 200,000 on Premium or 500,000 on Standard or Plus. These are arithmetic thresholds, not spending recommendations. They also establish no useful available flight costing 50,000 miles.

Keep the fee outside the points balance

Ultra is advertised in Italy at EUR 55 monthly: twelve payments total EUR 660, without assuming that is the annual-billing price. If you already need the plan for other services, assess the incremental earning cost. If opening it solely for miles, consider the full relevant cost. A faster earning rate does not automatically establish better value.

Transfer for a concrete journey

Revolut transfers are final and can take up to two business days. Search the award for all passengers first, record miles and cash, and allow for availability changing meanwhile. A small transfer to complete a balance can make sense. Moving everything through fear of missing an opportunity commits more points to a programme you may not use.
