Use the Italian table

The current Italian catalogue gives Flying Blue and Singapore KrisFlyer two miles per three MR points. British Airways Club and Iberia Club receive four Avios per five MR. One to one is therefore not a general rule. Since July 2026, the Emirates partner page requires account login; check its conditions there rather than substituting another market’s table.

Minimums and increments can leave a remainder

Flying Blue specifies a 750-MR minimum in multiples of three; KrisFlyer 1,500 in multiples of 300. British Airways starts at 800 MR in 400-point blocks, Iberia at 500 in 500-point blocks. Calculate the mileage shortfall first, then round only to the necessary permitted increment. Moving the whole balance for convenience can leave unnecessary points in the destination programme.

Transfer time is part of the decision

The catalogue estimates up to 30 minutes for British Airways and Iberia, and three to twenty business days for Flying Blue and KrisFlyer. Estimates do not hold award seats. Prepare the frequent-flyer account and check required details beforehand. For an urgent opportunity, consider not transferring: correctly credited miles can still arrive after the desired flight disappears.

Check before confirming

Search the award for everyone and record charges and conditions. Before confirming, check the holder, account number, ratio and amount. Keep the receipt and inspect both balances. Transferring points is not booking travel; the ticket still needs issuing afterwards. Include a transfer bonus only when the applicable terms actually provide one, not because it existed last year.
