Saxony’s tourism organisation announces the Striezelmarkt on Dresden’s Altmarkt from 25 November to 24 December 2026, with free admission. These are announced dates; the cover does not document the 2026 edition.

5 December offers a different focus

The Schutzverband Dresdner Stollen announces Stollenfest for 5 December 2026. Its programme lists opening at 10am, a parade start around 11am, arrival around noon and cutting shortly afterwards; sales from approximately 12:15pm and a finish around 3:30pm. Approximate timings remain approximate.

Choose the reason for visiting first

For Stollenfest, we would keep the morning and early afternoon free. If lights and a market stroll are the main attraction, choose the date that fits the rest of your trip: 5 December need not be treated as the only worthwhile day. This is an editorial choice, not a crowd forecast or a claim about hotel value. We have neither measured queues nor compared available rooms. A concentrated festival timetable leaves less room for a late arrival; a visit focused on the market alone can be planned with greater flexibility. Decide which experience matters before tying the trip to a particular date.

Before booking transport or accommodation, reopen the official links and check the hours for your chosen day. We give no daily market hours because the municipal portal was unreadable during verification. The Stollenfest page combines a 2026 programme with a route heading for the 30th edition; we do not treat that route as confirmed for 2026.
