The deadline uses Finnish time
Finnair announces a discount on Avios purchases from 2 to 16 November 2026, ending at 23:59:59 UTC+2 on the final day. In Italy and Germany that is 22:59:59 CET. It applies to Buy Avios, not purchases as a gift. This is a points sale, not an offer of reward seats.
A small top-up does not get 50%
The bands are: 0–4,000 Avios with no discount; 5,000–19,000 at 30% off; 20,000–49,000 at 35%; 50,000–84,000 at 40%; and 85,000–200,000 at 50%. The announcement also adds 10% in tier points. That does not mean 10% extra Avios.
Two checks before the basket
The Shop limits eligibility to members who joined before 30 October 2026 and have at least 50 Avios. It states a 1–3-day crediting time and a reset purchase limit of up to 200,000 Avios for this campaign, even if the annual limit was already reached. The actual price appears after login. We therefore quote neither an unobserved purchase total nor a cost per Avios.
Keep the Lumo requirement separate
Tier points from this promotion do not count as tier points earned from Finnair flights for the Platinum Lumo requirement. Other Buy Avios terms still apply. We have not checked reward inventory for specific dates; a larger balance does not establish that your intended journey is bookable.
Top up what is missing or chase the threshold?
Worked example: if a goal needed another 10,000 Avios, buying 85,000 for the maximum discount would leave 75,000 not needed for that trip. A better percentage can therefore increase total spending. Compare the final top-up cost, any cash component of the reward and the cash ticket you would actually buy. Check the journey with the issuing programme first and allow for crediting time. We assign no guaranteed monetary value to tier points.
