Hilton Honors in 2026: points, tiers and reward stays

Two different balances

Points fund rewards; nights, stays and eligible spending qualify you for status. Buying or transferring points is not equivalent to staying. Start with hotel nights you actually need: unnecessary stays solely for status can cost more than future benefits. Keep the booking details and check the subsequent account credit.

Current thresholds

In 2026, Silver requires 10 nights, 4 stays or USD2,500 of eligible spending in a calendar year. Gold requires 25 nights, 15 stays or USD6,000; Diamond needs 50 nights, 25 stays or USD11,500. Diamond Reserve instead requires 80 nights or 40 stays plus USD18,000 in eligible spending. For Reserve, spending is an additional requirement, not a third alternative.

How points accrue

Most brands award 10 base points per US dollar of eligible spending; some award 5, while LivSmart Studios awards 3 with its own additional conditions. Taxes are excluded from eligible spending. Tier bonuses are 20% for Silver, 80% for Gold, 100% for Diamond and 120% for Diamond Reserve. Do not multiply the whole bill without separating exclusions and the calculation currency.

Booking and benefits

Honors benefits require an eligible booking channel. A rate found through an intermediary is not automatically equivalent to a direct booking. Gold can provide an available upgrade and continental breakfast or a food-and-beverage credit depending on country and brand. It does not promise a suite or make the rules of a US hotel identical to those of a European property.

The fifth night and award category

From Silver upwards, every fifth night is free on eligible Standard Room Reward stays paid entirely with points: at least five consecutive nights at the same property, up to four free nights over twenty. Premium Room Rewards and Points & Money do not qualify. Check the displayed total and included room; a cash rate does not establish award availability.

Watch the year boundary

Rollover nights accumulated through 2025 can contribute to 2026 status, but nights accumulated in 2026 do not carry into 2027. Do not book an extra night expecting a future rollover that the rules have removed. Assess current conditions while keeping cash spent, points received and benefits actually used separate.
