You can book for others, but prepare the list first

My List lets a Qatar Airways Privilege Club member use their own Avios balance for award flights for up to four people added to their list. That does not mean four available award seats: it limits nominees, not inventory. The feature is useful when the points sit in your account and you want to book for a partner or adult friends. Thirty days for the owner, at least eighteen years for invitees

The owner must be an active member whose Privilege Club account was opened at least 30 days earlier. The creation rule covers Burgundy, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each invitee must be at least 18. They cannot already belong to another member’s My List; existing Family & Friends group members are ineligible to be added. This procedure therefore does not solve booking for a minor. The invitation must be accepted

Log in to your own account and look for Family & Friends/My List. Before inviting someone, check their age and membership of other lists or groups with them. Only the owner initiates an addition: the conditions allow a membership number with either a surname or email address, or an invitation link. The invitee must accept to be added. Then check that their name actually appears on the list before proceeding to the flight. Being on someone else’s list does not prevent creating your own, provided you meet the requirements. Three invitees use three slots, not three combined balances

Worked example: you want to use your Avios for a partner and two friends, all eligible adults. That is 1 + 2 = 3 of the 4 permitted nominees, leaving one slot. This count does not combine their points with yours. The owner makes the redemption from their own balance; invitees cannot spend it themselves. Gold and Platinum have extra flexibility

The terms allow Gold and Platinum members to book award flights for additional individuals of their choice, online or through the Contact Centre or Member Service Centre. For these tiers, the four nominees do not exhaust the options for booking for others. The requirement for creating My List remains separate: section 2.5 includes Gold and Platinum in the 30-day rule. Six months before changing: choose people you expect to travel with

An added member must stay on the list for at least six months from the date of addition. Afterwards they may leave or the owner may remove them; changes remain subject to system checks. Deleting an account during the commitment does not allow an immediate switch to another list: the six months must finish first. Check the person first, then the complete flight quote

The practical sequence is to check eligibility, have the invitation accepted, check the list and then assess the flight for everyone travelling. In the quote, check date, airports, connections, carrier and cabin for every segment, total Avios and the cash component with currency. A promotional minimum alone does not establish bookable seats.
