Radisson Rewards: tiers, point value and MR transfers

The programme to use

Radisson Rewards remains separate from Choice Privileges, which incorporated Radisson Rewards Americas in 2023. Before planning your earning, check that the intended hotel participates in your account’s programme. The brand on the building does not make points and benefits identical across countries. This guide covers Radisson Rewards and the Italian Membership Rewards catalogue.

Club, Premium and VIP

Membership starts at Club. Premium requires 5 nights or 3 eligible stays, and VIP 30 nights or 20 stays within the twelve-month qualification period. Ordinary earning is 8, 27 or 36 points per eligible US dollar respectively, with half those rates at Prize by Radisson. Old Silver, Gold and Platinum labels do not describe the current programme.

What Platinum changes

Italian Platinum provides access to Premium after enrolment, not VIP. This does not credit qualifying nights. Upgrades and early or late timings remain subject to programme conditions. Free breakfast for two is a VIP benefit, with exceptions such as long-stay rates. Closing the card may end the linked benefit.

An immediate discount or more points

Discount Booster can reduce the rate by up to 20%, but lowers earning to 9 points per US dollar for Premium and 12 for VIP. The sensible choice depends on the final price and a realistic use for points forgone. Compare both options for the same stay without combining Booster savings with full earning. No advertised percentage replaces the total payable.

What an MR transfer is worth

American Express Italy lists 2 MR for 5 Radisson, with a 4-MR minimum and multiples of 4, estimated at 3–20 business days. This guide guarantees no 0.26-cent point value. Purely as arithmetic, if 25,000 points avoided EUR43, each would yield EUR0.00172, or 0.172 euro cents, not EUR0.17. Obtain a dynamic redemption quote before judging the transfer.
