Announced rates, not confirmed award seats
Singapore Airlines’ official Spontaneous Escapes table lists Frankfurt–New York on SQ26 for 19,250 KrisFlyer miles in Economy and 39,900 in Premium Economy, per person each way, plus taxes and fees. Tickets must be issued by 31 October 2026 for travel in November. These are announced promotional amounts: we have not verified a seat on a specific date, the number of passengers available or a complete cash quote. Blackout dates depend on the cabin
Travel is from 1 to 30 November 2026. SQ26 Economy excludes 1–3, 25–27 and 29–30 November; Premium Economy excludes only 28–29 November. The 28th is therefore not blacked out in Economy but is in Premium; on the 30th the reverse applies. This compares the promotional calendar rather than confirming seats: even a non-blackout date may have no bookable award. Source: official rows for both cabins.
Do not simply double the Economy rate for the return
The table lists New York–Frankfurt on SQ25 for 39,900 miles in Premium Economy, without listed blackout dates. It does not list an Economy row in that direction or a Business price on this route. Do not describe 38,500 miles as an Economy return ticket we have found. If you want Business, this specific promotional combination is not an announced Business fare. Two calculations before choosing
Worked example using published values, without checked availability: an Economy outbound at 19,250 plus a Premium Economy return at 39,900 totals 59,150 miles per person, or 118,300 for two people. Both directions’ cash charges still need to be added. Two Premium Economy sectors would instead cost 79,800 miles per person: a difference of 20,650 miles, but for different cabins. The 30% discount is already reflected in the table; do not apply it again.
The decisive restriction is flexibility
Promo tickets permit neither changes nor cancellation, even if completely unused. Stopovers are excluded and other discounts cannot be combined. If any sector falls outside the window or is ineligible, the entire itinerary loses the promotion; the FAQ recommends separate bookings when the return is outside the window. First consider how certain your dates are. Waitlist redemption is not available for this promotion. Source: official FAQ and terms.
How to check it in your account
Log into KrisFlyer on the Singapore Airlines website or SingaporeAir app, choose Redeem flights and search your route, day and passenger count. Check the Promo column and summary: cabin, flight, miles and taxes with currency must match what you intend to book. Ticketing must finish in the same session; a search does not hold a price or seat. Agencies and service centres do not sell this promotion. Taxes and fees are paid separately and are not reduced by the mileage discount. Source: Singapore Airlines’ instructions and terms.
When it is worth investigating
If starting in Italy or another German city, include travel to Frankfurt and an appropriate buffer between tickets in the calculation. Compare the entire cost with a cash flight from your home city on comparable flexibility terms. We assign no guaranteed euro value to the miles and assume no connection protection on separately purchased tickets. Before moving points, check that your entire desired trip is actually bookable and that the restrictive conditions suit you.
