The figure to update

The Italian MR catalogue updated in July 2026 lists five MR for two Skywards miles for products other than Centurion. Centurion is listed at 5:4. Both entries are available until 30 November 2026 in the checked edition. Before transferring, check the entry for your card and any catalogue update.

How spending translates into miles

Gold and personal Platinum ordinarily earn one MR per eligible euro. At 5:2 that equates to 0.4 Skywards per euro before rounding and specific bonuses. For example, 10,000 MR become 4,000 miles; 100,000 MR become 40,000. A general double-points travel multiplier is not part of the verified ordinary rules for these Italian cards.

Assess Centurion separately

Centurion is listed at 1.5 MR per eligible euro and 5:4 to Skywards: arithmetically 1.2 miles per euro before rounding. That does not establish it as the best-value card. Access, costs and conditions need separate assessment. A higher earning rate does not automatically offset higher costs or guarantee card issuance.

Sign in before deciding

From 1 July 2026, Amex requires sign-in to view the Emirates page and request conversion. Check your account’s displayed rate, minimum, increments and timings rather than borrowing them from another partner. The Skywards account must be yours and the MR transfer is irreversible. Check award space or ticket upgrade eligibility first.

Compare costs as well as miles

Italian personal Platinum normally costs EUR70 monthly, or EUR840 over twelve months. When assessing a card for Skywards, separate fees, ordinary earning, any introductory bonus and benefits used. Add award taxes and surcharges. Neither 4,000 miles nor a generic 20% bonus promises a Milan–New York upgrade: you need a valid quote for your ticket.
