A data plan may be enough for maps and internet messaging. Conventional calls and texts require checking the product’s specific functions. It is inaccurate to say that every booking or ride-hailing app requires an American number. A +1 prefix also does not guarantee acceptance by every bank or verification service. Check the particular requirement before changing an account’s contact number.

T-Mobile: buy in the United States

U.S. Pass lists US$25 for 7 days, US$30 for 10 and US$35 for 14, plus taxes and fees. It includes unlimited calls and texts within the plan’s scope, unlimited US data with 50 GB premium data, and 14, 20 or 28 GB of high-speed hotspot respectively. Priority may decrease during congestion after 50 GB; video is standard definition. Crucially, purchase and activation must take place in the US on an unlocked, compatible eSIM device. It is not a pass to activate in Italy.

Saily offers a US number for €1.99 per month plus a separate call/text plan from €0.99, so the number price is not an all-inclusive total. Communications run through its app, identity verification is required, and incoming as well as outgoing minutes count. Airalo lists both data and data/calls/texts categories for the US. Holafly’s global Unlimited subscription number, supporting incoming texts and VoIP calls, must be distinguished from its US prepaid product.

Verizon’s trial is conditional

Verizon’s trial lasts up to 30 days but requires US presence, an unlocked compatible phone and an available eSIM slot. Current Verizon, Visible and TracFone customers and people who used a Verizon trial in the previous 12 months are excluded. The app checks eligibility: do not plan around guaranteed acceptance.
