The Tornado needs a museum ticket
There is no separate viewpoint-only ticket for the Tornado: you need Fenix admission. Plein, the shop and O Anatolian Café are accessible without a museum ticket. Make that distinction first if you are considering a short stop rather than a full museum visit. Source: official Fenix FAQ.
Three age bands, one clear calculation
The official list shows EUR 15 for adults, EUR 7.50 for ages 19–25 and free admission through age 18 inclusive. Museumkaart is not valid. Tickets apply to the selected date and time and include exhibitions and the Tornado, subject to temporary closures. Source: Fenix ticket office.
A family budget example
Teaching example, not a purchased quote: two adults and a 17-year-old would pay EUR 30 in admission alone; with a 22-year-old, the total would be EUR 37.50. The difference is EUR 7.50, not the price of a third adult. Keep transport, meals and shopping separate. Do not invent a cash value for the view: the question is whether you also want the museum visit. Even inexpensive admission is unnecessary spending if all you need is a sheltered break.
One exhibition closes from 27 October
The Family of Migrants is closed for maintenance from 27 October to 6 November 2026. Exhibitions normally open Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–17:00; Monday closed, with published holiday exceptions. Closure of this exhibition does not mean all of Fenix is closed. Source: official visitor information.
Choose your date around your interests
If photography is your main reason for travelling, consider a date outside the maintenance interval and check the notice again before paying. If architecture is your priority, compare the programme actually available with the full admission price. Do not assume a refund or discount applies. For a visit between two commitments, settle the entry time first and arrange the rest of the day around it; a packed schedule leaves little room for unexpected delays.
Weather, access and address
The Tornado may close in bad weather. The museum and Tornado are lift-accessible; large bags can be left in lockers. Visitor address: Paul Nijghkade 5, Rotterdam. Sources: ticket office for weather, FAQ for access and luggage, visitor page for the address.
How to plan the booking
Open the official website, compare the categories for your group and check your chosen day. Before payment, reread notices, entry time and ticket coverage. An older photograph does not establish whether an activity is accessible today. Keep the confirmation and price breakdown to compare your purchase with your day plan. We have neither checked nor reserved spaces for a specific date.
