The answer: this is now a guide to ordinary earning

The earlier promotion notice is replaced with a guide to ordinary Iberia Club rules, checked on 20 October 2026. This page does not advertise a live double-Avios offer. To check the expected credit, start with eligible net spend and the applicable multiplier, then compare them with account transactions. Multiplying the entire cash payment is not enough. Which part of the price earns Avios

Iberia’s guide includes ancillary services and carrier charges in net spend but excludes taxes and fees. Keep a breakdown separating those components: a receipt showing only the total is not always enough to reconstruct the calculation. The multiplier depends on status, and destination-specific elements can apply. For another airline, consult that carrier’s rules within the programme rather than automatically carrying over the Iberia calculation. Sign into your account before booking. Worked example: 2,100 Avios rather than 2,520

This is a teaching example, not an observed fare: suppose a ticket costs 360 EUR, including 60 EUR of excluded taxes and fees, leaving 300 EUR eligible. Apply the multiplier of 7 used in Iberia’s official illustration for an Oro member on a New York flight: 300 × 7 = 2,100 Avios. Multiplying 360 × 7 instead produces 2,520, overstating the result by 420 Avios. The 7 is not a promise for every airline or route; it demonstrates how the wrong base changes the result. Forgot the membership number? Before and after flying

If the ticket is already purchased, the FAQ says you can add the Iberia Club number in Manage Booking, under passenger details, or at check-in. After flying, the specified route is instead My Iberia Club and Claim missing Avios. Check the passenger name, membership number and relevant flight before submitting, so the journey is attributed to the correct account. Where to compare the credit

Open My Iberia Club and select Avios. The FAQ says you can view the balance and transactions and filter by date range or service category. Find the specific flight entry rather than relying only on the change in total balance, which may include other activity. Record ordinary flight earning separately from any bonus you are checking. This makes a later query more precise and prevents counting the same credit twice. Source: Iberia Italy FAQ on viewing the balance.

Two months, six months and 45 days are different

For transactions where the membership number was given at booking, the FAQ specifies credit within a maximum of two months, depending on the operating airline or partner. It directs members to claim missing Avios after that period. Flight claims have a maximum deadline of six months from the flight date. For Iberia Group and partner flights covered by the relevant table entry, use Claim missing Avios. The table lists a maximum 45-day credit time, separate from the deadline for submitting a claim. Flights operated and marketed by Vueling follow a specific form-based route. Source: Iberia Italy FAQ on missing Avios.

If you were also expecting a promotional bonus

Keep ordinary earning calculations separate from any promotional bonus. Check the latter against the conditions you saved at purchase and the journey actually flown. An old offer page remaining reachable does not establish an extension. Prepare a summary of flight date, eligible spend, multiplier, Avios already recorded and the difference to clarify. An expected credit is not yet a spendable balance, and it has no guaranteed cash value.
